Week of 4/4 - 4/7

Hi Bumblebees,
Welcome back! It sounds like you all had a fun Spring Break! Just another couple months and we'll be graduating! Hard to believe this year has gone so fast. Enjoy the pictures.

It's all about the letter V this week!
Matthew showing us all the great items he brought in the class sound box!
Using our arms to make a V with Alphabet Al!
A big thanks to Samantha's mom for coming and helping us with our art projects for the Arts in April event!
Haley got to take our letter-of-the-week book home this week. Growing Vegetable Soup by Lois Ehlert!
We got a little extra free drawing time due to the bad storms when we couldn't go outside. Good thing we love to draw!
What would you put in your vegetable soup?

Transportation stamps and car tracks....cool!
Vehicle Day! How/where does your vehicle travel?
Fun!
A HUGE thank you to Mackenzie's mom, Mrs. Nancy, and her produce manager, Mr. Anthony, for taking time out of their busy day at Publix to come and share with us about Vegetables!
V is for vegetables!

We got to touch the vegetables...some feel funny!
Thank you so much to Mrs. Nancy, Mr. Anthony, and Publix for helping us learn about vegetables!!
We are still daily practicing counting by 10s to 100. Please practice at home with your child!
We have started working on simple rhyming words (your child brought home a newspaper about this today). Please practice this also!
Please check this picture to see if your child is responsible for something this weekend. Have fun!
NEXT WEEK:
*The letter W (please send in a 'w' picture in the letter envelope on MONDAY)
*Cultures around the World (if your family is originally from a country other than the USA, or you have traveled outside of the country....and you have any artifacts, clothing, etc from that country that you would be able to send in for us to see, please let me know asap. You can send that in any day next week. If you are able to prepare a simple food dish from another country that we could sample, please let me know what day next week you could send that in. Thanks!)
*TUESDAY--Purple Day! Please wear purple and bring one purple item in for show-and-tell!
*THURSDAY--Arts in April! We have been busy working on art projects during school and these will be available for purchase on Thursday evening. The event runs from 5 - 7 on Thursday evening. If you can help out with our class items (game, ice cream basket for auction, etc) please let me know asap.

Please practice with your child:
*Counting to 100 by 10s
*simple rhyming words (cat/hat, king/ring, man/can, etc)

Class wish list:
*We would like to decorate/dye Easter eggs with the kids in a couple of weeks. If anyone could hard-boil and send in a dozen eggs, please let me know. We'd like each child to dye a few, so we'd need a couple dozen. Thanks!
