Week of 3/21 - 3/24

Hi Bumblebees,
We made it to Spring Break! Have a wonderful, relaxing time with your families, and we'll see you back at school on Monday, April 4!

Week of 3/14 - 3/17

Hi Bumblebees,
Once again, we packed a lot of fun and learning into just 4 days! One more week before spring break!!

Reading Chester & Ronnie's journal about their fun weekend with Samantha!
BUGS!! We decorated our bug jars to look like bumblebees, of course!
Getting outside stuff for our bug jars....did any of you put a real, live bug in there yet?
Sammy showing us all the great "T" stuff he brought in the class sound box!
We had so much fun decorating and dressing our teddy bears!

Our teddy bears did the twist with Alphabet Al!
We read Goldilocks and the Three Bears...
The GREAT BIG Papa Bears!
The middle-sized mama bears,
and the teeny tiny baby bears!
We wrote the words "ten teddy bears" in our journals, and then had to glue exactly 10 in!
Aren't our teddy bears cute?
When we left for the playground, our teddy bears were sleeping, but when we came inside, we were so surprised!
Our teddy bears had set up a picnic to have with us!
Zach got to take our letter-of-the-week book home this week. Ten Apples Up On Top! by Dr. Seuss (writing as Theo LeSieg)
We made our own version of the book....hope you got a chance to look at it!
T is for teddy bears you can eat! Yum!

Our t-shirts can make the letter t!
Apparently our little leprechauns came to life and left footprints and goodies around the room!
The seeds we planted last week have begun to sprout! Your child will be taking these home next week.
We have begun learning our initials!

We have begun learning how to count dots on a dice...it's more fun if you get to catch/throw the dice though!
The penguin class came in to share their St. Patrick's Day song with us...we are learning how to be a good/appreciative audience!

Week of 3/7 - 3/10

Hi Bumblebees,
What a busy week we had! Thank you for keeping up with all the special days and events! Our parents are the best!

We decorated our pots and filled them with dirt....
planted some seeds....
watered them....and are waiting for them to grow!

We had so many complimentary comments about our beautiful Growing Garden! Could you tell which baby matched which Bumblebee?

We found the letter s in our daily sentence!
We finally made it! We have counted one bumblebee a day....to 100!! We will begin practicing counting by 10's, so please practice with your child!

In honor of Day 100, we celebrated all things related to numbers....like number BINGO!!

*TUESDAY--Teddy Bear Day! Please bring a teddy bear to school (and please make sure it is a teddy BEAR, not any other kind of stuffed animal...if your child doesn't have one, please let me know, and I can let them borrow one of ours)
*WEDNESDAY--T-shirt Day! Please have your child wear a solid-colored t-shirt to school (any color is fine!)
*THURSDAY--I know we just had green day here at school, but in honor of St. Patrick's Day, you can have your child wear green again (this is optional, they don't have to)

Please practice with your child:
*All letters and sounds, A through T
*Counting by 10's (10, 20, 30, etc to 100)
*Parts of a plant (roots, stems, leave, flower)
