Week of 11/15 - 11/18

Hi Bumblebees,
HAPPY THANKSGIVING! We are so thankful to God for each and every one of you, your children, and your families! Have a very blessed vacation. Enjoy the pictures.

Reading Chester's journal about his fun weekend with Zach!

We spent a lot of time this week reviewing the letters we have been learning!
Drawing a picture of what we are thankful for!
Learning the story of the Pilgrims coming to America on the Mayflower!
We did ALL the letters and exercises with Alphabet Al for the letters we know!
Practicing counting, recognizing numbers 1 through 5, and our one-to-one correspondence.
We got lots of chances to retell the first Thanksgiving story. Here the Pilgrims are on their rocky voyage to America aboard the Mayflower!
The nice Native Americans are waiting with turkeys and corn!
The Indians shared their food with the Pilgrims....and the Pilgrims said thanks!
Our turkeys helped us review our letters!
We are so thankful for beautiful weather, just right for a picnic!
Making Indian corn, just like in the first Thanksgiving story!
Thank you so much for helping us with our kid-friendly Thanksgiving meal!

We had a great time, and couldn't have done it without your help!
Happy 5th birthday, Kaylee! We're so glad you're a Bumblebee! Thanks for the yummy cupcakes too!
One last chance to retell the first Thanksgiving story (ask your kids the story, they know it pretty well!)
NEXT WEEK:

WHEN WE GET BACK (MONDAY, NOVEMBER 29):

A quick overview of the food pyramid
Congratulations to our many star students this week! Keep up the good work!
Have fun!
NEXT WEEK:
*No letter-of-the-week next week (the fact that there is no letter-of-the-week envelope in your child's folder today is for once NOT a teacher mistake!!). We will be reviewing all letters A through I.
*Thanksgiving (please do not expect a large variety of turkey craft projects to come home next week. We will spend most of the week learning the story of the original Thanksgiving day, and reviewing our alphabet.)
*WEDNESDAY--our class Thanksgiving meal. If you signed up to send something in for this, a reminder went home in your child's folder today. Thank you!

Please practice with your child:
*All letters A through I
*Our Christmas program song!!

Class wish list:
jelly beans
1 jar of grape jelly
1 jar of strawberry jelly
