Thanks to Zach's Queen Mom for reading us our first fairy tale!
We had plenty of opportunities to use our imaginations this week!
Decorating our crowns!
Didn't our golf ball paintings turn out beautiful?
What would your kingdom look like if you could have your own fairy tale land?
Zach got to take our letter-of-the-week book home this week. Goodnight, Gorilla! (Ask your kids about the gorilla that kept getting into trouble and hiding around our classroom this week!).
The Bumblebee Kingdom!
Thanks to Kate's Queen mom for reading us the wonderful fairy tale of Pinnochio!

What fun we had making our magic wands...
....they looked cute and tasted even better!
Thanks to Samantha's Queen mom for reading to us about Princess Belle and the Beast!
Thanks to Mackenzie's Queen mom for reading to us about Princesses Ariel and Melody!
Don't we look marvelous?
Candy party!!
We graphed all the weather for the month of October. Sunny won by a landslide!
Congratulations to our star students this week! Yena, Kate, Mackenzie, Sammy, and Riley! Good job!
Please check this picture to see if your child is responsible for anything this weekend. Have fun!
NEXT WEEK:
*The letter H
*Shapes, Sizes, and Opposites
*MONDAY--Christmas program CDs will be coming home. We will be singing with the zebra class, and have been assigned the song "We Three Kings." This is not a particularly easy song, so please plan on listening to it a lot between now and the Christmas program (which I believe is the evening of December 14)! I will send the words home as well. We will need the CDs back after the program, so please don't lose them!
*TUESDAY--picture day. Please have your child dress nicely for their individual and class pictures. We will still be going to the playground, you may want to send something not so nice for them to change into after their picture. Please try to be on time on Tuesday, our class picture won't be the same without everyone in it!
*WEDNESDAY--HAT DAY! Please let your child pick a hat to wear to school (NOT a cap, since we already had cap day for the letter C)
*THURSDAY--we will be having hot dogs for lunch. If your child will not eat hot dogs, please send in a lunch for them. Send in morning snack as usual. So far only one mom has volunteered to send in food for our hot dog lunch. If you can send anything in, please let me know asap.

Week of 10/18 - 10/21

Hi Bumblebees,
A BIG thank you to all of our parents who came for a conference with us today, this week, or some time over the past weeks. It was such a privilege to sit with you for a short while and share about your amazing children. Thank you for working with us as we prepare them for kindergarten. Keep up the good work!

We packed an awful lot into 3 days of learning this week. Enjoy the pictures.

Reading Chester's journal about his fun weekend with Lauren!
It's all about the letter F this week!
Sponge painting our beautiful fall trees
God made so many beautiful colors!
Josue got to take our letter-of-the-week book home this week. (Fish Eyes by Lois Ehlert)
Yena showing us all the great F items she brought in the class sound box!
Adding the trunks to our fall trees
We have been learning about "the little dot" called a period that tells you when our daily sentence is done. Please point these out, or have your child find them in the stories you read with them!
Making our fancy fish like the ones in our story book!
Waving flags with Alphabet Al!
Our pumpkin newspaper this week was the first one where we've had to write numbers! We did really well!
What better way to appreciate the season of fall than with a picnic? The weather cooperated beautifully this week!
PUMPKIN DAY! How fat is your pumpkin? How tall?
What does a pumpkin feel like and look like inside?

We even got to decorate our pumpkins!

Isn't this the cutest pumpkin patch?
A very happy 5th birthday to Lauren! We are so glad you're a Bumblebee! Thanks for the yummy pizza and cupcakes too!
Hopefully you've noticed already if your child is responsible for something this weekend. If not, please check this picture to make sure. Have fun!
NEXT WEEK:
*The letter G (please send in a small "G" picture in the letter envelope on MONDAY). By the way, last week when we forgot to send the letter envelope home, we were pleasantly surprised that you all sent in pictures anyways!! Thanks!
*The wonderful world of fairy tales and nursery rhymes
*MONDAY - THURSDAY: If you signed up to come in and read a fairy tale to our class, a reminder will be coming home with date/time in your child's folder. Thank you!
*THURSDAY--Fairy tale day! Parade at 10:00! Please have your child wear their costume to school, we will not have time to dress them before the parade. If they will want to change after the parade, please send in a change of clothes/shoes. Please feel free to watch our parade. We will be walking around the outside of the building one time, so please be on time!
*Also on THURSDAY -- we will be having a candy exchange in class. Please have your child bring in 13 pieces of their favorite candy to pass out to their friends. Please make sure the candy is individually wrapped! We can not pass out candy that is open. They will be allowed to eat only one piece in school, the rest will be brought home. You may send the candy in before Thursday, but please make sure the bag you send it in is labeled with your child's name.

Please practice with your child:
*All letters A through G
*Writing numbers 1 through 5
*Keep practicing writing their first names

Class wish list:
We would like to have a hot dog lunch when we get to the letter H in a couple of weeks. If you can send in some hot dogs, buns, ketchup, mustard, and/or chips that week, please let me know asap. Thank you!

Hi Bumblebees,
Our class sure loves their pets. Those of you with real pets at home, we heard a lot about them! And we had fun with our stuffed animal pets too! Thanks to everyone who donated items for this week, we couldn't have had so much fun without you! Enjoy the pictures.

Reading Chester's journal about his fun weekend with Matthew!
It's all about the letter E this week!

Soaring like an eagle with Alphabet Al
Can't have pet week without playing with Littlest Pet Shops!

ORANGE DAY show-and-tell!
Orange hunt around our classroom!
Kate took our letter-of-the-week book home this week. Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss!
We got the special treat of watching how a pet groomer makes a dog pretty!
Shaving....
....and even getting bows in her fur!
Making our own doggies....
...aren't they cute?
Making REAL green eggs!
We had a handful of Bumblebees brave enough to try them!

And those who did try them, did like them! Just like in our story!
Working on our fall newspaper. We are getting so much better at following step-by-step instructions!
Congratulations to our star students this week...Lauren, Brianna, and Mackenzie! Keep up the good work!
