Week of 1/31 - 2/3

Hi Bumblebees,
Despite the ongoing illnesses in our class and around our school, we had another great week. Thanks for all the birthday greetings....you all are so thoughtful! Enjoy the pictures.

Reading Chester & Ronny's journal about their fun weekend with Josue!
Making our "love bugs" to decorate our window for February
We graphed January's weather. Sunny won again!
Riley showing us the great (and yummy!) items he brought in the class sound box!
O is for open with Alphabet Al!
Happy 5th birthday, Sammy! We are so glad you're in our class. (And it was extra special for me to share my birthday with you!)
Matthew took our letter-of-the-week book home this week. Officer Buckle and Gloria, by Peggy Rathmann!
A good majority of our students got an extra trip to the treasure box this week for having completed and returned the first 5 weekly homework assignments. If your child did not, for some reason, they did notice! Please make sure you check the folders every Tuesday, that is when the homework comes home.
February 2 is Groundhog Day! After making our cute groundhogs....
...we took them outside to see if they could find their shadow. They did NOT! Perhaps we're in for an early spring?!
How many of you parents correctly guessed your child's teeth?
What color is your toothbrush?
We even got to paint a giant tooth with toothbrushes, just for fun!

Our helper of the day checks the weather. We have begun checking to see our shadows too. Please point out shadows with your kids as you're out and about!
The ABC Mystery Box helps us review our letters and sounds!
Please check this picture to see if your child is responsible for something this weekend. Have fun!
NEXT WEEK:
*No letter for the week (no letter envelope came home in the folder today). We will be reviewing all letters through O
*Valentine's Day (our valentine exchange party will actually be on Monday, the 14th, but next week we will be preparing for it). More info about our party will come home next week.
*PINK DAY is on TUESDAY (please have your child wear pink and bring one pink item for show-and-tell)

Please practice with your child:
*All letters A through O
